My happy moment on an insane day – White Sangria

Yesterday was crazy hot,  38°C (100.4°F) at about 3pm in Austria, and just the thought of it makes my neck start to itch.  I’m plagued by insane heat rash during the summer months so of course, I hid inside – it was like hell on earth out there!

Unfortunately, poor hubby was back to work and as I wondered whether or not his co-workers would opt (???? crazy people, no?) to turn the air-conditioning unit on; I also thought, if I were him, what would make a horrible day better?  A cool, satisfying drink!

Click here for a quick, fairly inexpensive, absolutely delicious White Sangria that will take the edge of a sticky day for you.  Instead of 3 bottles of dry wine, I only used two and a liter of sparkling water.  I also made my simple syrup with brown sugar but that’s because I only use brown sugar.  I came across some Ribisel (red currants) and popped them in for color (although the recipe does not ask for them).  That’s about it.

Prost (Cheers)!

About A Bahamian In Austria

I am a Bahamian woman, married to an Austrian man, who's been freshly transplanted to Vienna. I started writing this blog when a dear friend insisted that I had to write down my experiences. At best it'll update my buddies on my crazy-going-ons and at least, it'll keep me from stalking them online (LOL). I hope you enjoy :D
